Dr. Christopher Dewey, Psy.D.
Welcome!
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, and adults in Rhode Island (in-person and virtual) and Florida (virtual-only). I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, men’s issues, relationship issues, life transitions, college challenges, and identity-related concerns. I also work with clients who may not neatly meet the criteria for a particular problem and, instead, would simply like someone to confide in about life’s day-to-day challenges.
I graduated from Boston College in 2010 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communication. After graduation, I earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling through the Boston College - Lynch School of Education in 2013. Following these many years in Chestnut Hill, MA, I attended Rutgers University’ Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology where I received my doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.

Treatment Philosophy
Since everyone comes into therapy with varying levels of comfort with discussing their struggles, I make sure to remain open to feedback from my clients and try to work at their desired pace. I aim to take all intersecting aspects of my clients’ identities into account, while also recognizing the vast diversity that exists within each group. In our work together, I want to learn about your passions, hobbies, and other creative projects that make you an individual, as well as the important family members, friends, and pets in your life. Although many of the conversations that take place in therapy are quite serious, I also like to inject humor and levity in our discussions when appropriate.
